Worka Yirgacheffe

“Juicy peach, grapefruit & honeysuckle”

The Worka Co-operative operates the Halo Fafate Washing Station in Yirgacheffe, which serves around 900 small holder farmers in the area. And by ‘small holder’, we really do mean small! These farmers own on average between ½ to ⅛ hectare – about the size of a small garden. Cherries are then delivered straight to the washing station for processing, which is why a well-run station is so important to small holders; cherries will be dried on raised beds and processed consistently.

A typical coffee from the Worka Co-operative yields a bright acidity, medium body, florals, and complex flavors – a trade often found in Yirgacheffe coffees. Expect juicy peach, grapefruit & honeysuckle sweetness.
