Living in the coffee capital of the world, we've worked in the specialty coffee industry for over 10 years, as well as entered numerous specialty coffee competitions. During our time on the specialty coffee circuit we've tasted a lot of coffee, and realised the truest and most untainted way to taste coffee is by maintaining freshness and keeping the brew method simple.

Let’s face it, instant coffee is convenient.
All you need to do is add water, because the coffee has already been roasted, ground and brewed and then dehydrated to last a long time (by drying processes such as spraying or freezing). Similarly, all you need to do is add water to make a Beyond coffee. The key difference is that you are adding water when it matters the most – during the brewing process, not after, which means you have control over the extraction process.

Our brew-bags are made of 100% plant-based material, including the string and tag.
This means that you can compost your used coffee grounds and brew-bag. The material doubly acts as an effective filter that allow the water to freely saturate the coffee grounds during the brewing process for maximum flavour. We also use a 100% carbon neutral delivery service, where possible.

Beyond coffee was borne out of a need for good coffee + simplicity.
No grinders, kitchen scales, filter paper, or expensive equipment (that you need to clean afterwards). That’s not to say that we don’t still enjoy making filter coffee at home with our Aeropress or Moccamaster when we have the luxury of time on our hands. However, with Beyond, less time spent supervising the coffee making process means more time for you, more time for work, more time for leisure (and in our case, more time to attend to rugrats).
